But that is not what great ships are built for. In that spirit, I hope you will write this on your wall: When a great ship is in harbor and moored, it is safe, there can be no doubt. They are the words and deeds of the One who brought us here. The good words we say and the good deeds we do are not ours. There can be no despair when you remember why you came to Earth, who you serve, and who sent you here. “The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.” There can be no despair for the children of light. Is that just a metaphor?! Or somehow does it describe the core of our being – our ultimate magnificence and brilliance as children of God? Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.” And he said to his followers, “You are the light of the world.” You, and me and everyone else have simply forgotten who we are! You are the light of the world. In part, our despair and depression comes from forgetting our identity as children of God. We have forgotten who we are, why we are here and how to live a life that we would love and God would love. A beautiful song to help you remember who you truly are.
